Get out your Summer edition scrapbook magazines and take a look at the patterns in there. Imagine how they might look with your photos. Think about how you can change the colours, textures or tone it down or up to suit.
This pattern is one that I designed to teach a couple of simple techniques to my real life students. The page has a lot of different components and for my own album I would probably use them as a basis for a double page spread. I used orange as the focus colour but when I finished decided that a deep purple might have worked better. On your own pages you could match the colour to your photos. The squares are meant to frame the photos but could be omitted, made smaller or used around a journalling box.
You will find the instructions on the pattern sheet fairly basic. I will talk about some of the techniques used in more detail next week.
