What is something to remember when using stickers on your scrapbook layouts?

Tips for Using Stickers on Your Scrapbook Pages

There are so many different kinds of scrapbooking stickers that it might seem hard to choose just a few. Stickers for scrapbooking have come a long ways since the 1980s. One of the most important things to remember when decorating your scrapbook pages with stickers is to make sure you are using acid-free, lignin-free stickers.

Here are some sticker decorating ideas:

Coordinate your stickers with the color scheme and theme of your scrapbook layout. If you are creating a Christmas-themed layout, find fun holiday stickers like stockings and snowmen. Patriotic layouts might use flag stickers. You might look for Jolees brand stickers which are used by many scrappers.

Trim stickers that are too large for your layouts. If you need to alter your stickers, don't be afraid to trim them or cut out parts that you need. For example, if you are using word stickers and you only want one word in a phrase, you can cut out the individual word that you need and save the rest of the sticker for something else.

You can also layer stickers to create your own unique embellishment. You can stick flower stickers in a basket or accent a die cut shape with the appropriate sticker.

Scrapbooking stickers can be used for borders, such as page borders or a photo border. Dimensional stickers might make a unique photo frame for the focal point of your layout.

Stickers for scrapbooking are an easy and inexpensive way to decorate your scrapbooking pages. If you are a beginner, stickers may be a good option for you.

This is a great article about incorporating scrapbooking stickers into page layouts. I'm so glad you mentioned that it is okay to alter and cut your stickers. I used to be afraid to do that. I didn't want to ruin them. But I have gotten over it and now I create some of my best effects by changing the stickers to suit me. I often cut them, layer them, highlight them with glitter pens and do all sorts of other things. I also trim a lot of border stickers to make them shorter. It's easier to incorporate them into the page when they are not so dominating.

Thanks again for some great tips!
