May 23, 2003, Newsletter Issue #120: Your Scrapbooking Survival Kit

Tip of the Week

You can save precious scrapping time and space by storing your most used tools IN ONE CONTAINER. Clean up is a snap too because everything has a home. By gathering all your most used tools you can be assured that when you pack for a crop, you can just drop your Survival Kit into your tote and go!

Lets take a moment to think about the tools you use almost every time, and absolutely can`t scrap without.

Here are some examples:

- Hermafix, photo squares or tape runner
- Glue pen or glue stick
- foam squares or glue dots
- scissors
- coluzzle knife
- eyelet punch, setter and hammer
- pencil
- eraser
- fine tip black pen
- hole punch
- needles & eyelet threader (or tiny crochet needle)
- wire cutter/needle nose pliers
* what else is on YOUR list?

I challenge you to take 10 minutes to gather your "can`t scrap without" tools and put them into one container. A tupperware or rubbermaid container, domed plastic pencil case, small makeup case, empty baby wipe container, etc. Use what you have on hand or shop for something that suits your needs. Look in places like the dollar store or office supply store. Look for something that will fit nicely into your tote, or on your desk, or in your drawer.

Remember, keep your tool box simple, ONLY your most used tools here. Don`t obsess -- you will find with some trial and error, the things you reach for most often, and you can add or edit as you go along. And if you have more than one of something (or extra refills) just keep ONE in your tool box.

Happy Scrapping
